Lets set some positive intentions for the New Year by using the last day of the old year to reflect, and self-reflect. All morning classes are planned, also January first, but please give a 24 notice if you have the intention to join the class. Friday 4th of January no morning class.

The Tuesday and Wednesday evening classes are cancelled and will be back next week.
The 200hr yoga teacher training has started and a few more classes have been added to the schedule, for the most the schedule is as it was in 2018.

The early morning weekday classes (@Uma Dame and Wednesday at @Ocean View)have as focus the self practice of yoga and lean towards the Mysore style of teaching.

The weekend early morning classes at Ocean View are an extended variation of these classes in Led style.

The Thursday evening 6 p.m. class is Ashtanga vinyasa yoga primary series for anyone that cannot make it to any of the morning classes . It is a Led style though can move towards Mysore style during the coming months.

Interested in practicing Mysore but not sure enough to bring it to class, I m available for private sessions too.

The Saturday 9 a.m. morning class @Ocean View is the best class to (re)start your yoga practice or to experience an all around balanced hatha yoga class.

Sunday 9 a.m. morning class @Ocean View and Tuesday 6.15 p.m. evening class @U.N.D.P. give a complete practice too.

The weekend afternoon special classes are both for beginners and the more experienced practitioner. It is about the interest to move deeper into a certain area of the yoga practice, let it be hips, core strength, focus, meditation and back bend. @Uma iis Tasi.

With your help we could support various organizations in Timor Leste that work in line with our yoga philosophy/business ethics and who contribute to the development of Timor Leste in a balanced, harmonious way. D.A.Y. is the first yoga school in Timor Leste,and dedicated to offer the (self) practice of yoga to anyone who is interested. These YTT will be the first in its kind in Timor Leste, and we are excited to build up a new generation of yoga teachers in Timor Leste .

Ahimsaka Satya has been an experienced yoga teacher (200hr e-ur yoga alliance), and D.A.Y. is with the yoga alliance registered yoga school, and the YTT is yoga alliance approved.

A YTT certificate will be received after a successful training.

Dili Ashtanga Yoga LDA is continuing their classes in and around Dili, Timor Leste in 2018. The classes are at various locations and have various aims. The underlying goal of all the classes are the intention of moving the student into a self practice of yoga and to find more harmony and a balanced life. D.A.Y. ‘s yoga schedule is constructed towards this goal and it is for the student to take her/his pick.
The yoga classes are for anyone who is interested in yoga, no experience is required.

Week day morning classes @ Uma Dame / Farol
Starting between 6 and 6.15 a.m. (new students please arrive at 6 a.m.), ending is flexible till 8 a.m.
These classes are for anyone who likes to bring the fire of positive energy into their body’s for creating a body and mind that is both flexible and strong. It has a strong cardio part and will give you a whole workout for the body and be ready and prepared for a new day.

Saturday morning “Ashtanga Yoga primary series ” , a fixed classical yoga sequence which has been the mother template for all the contemporary vinyasa and power yoga classes.
Sunday morning “Ashtanga Yoga beyond primary”, a class that moves into the intermediate series of Ashtanga Yoga .

Saturday 9 to 10.30 a.m. “Ayurvedic flow “, a gentle flow of yoga asana,breathe exercises and meditation. This class covers various limbs of the yoga system and gives an idea of what yoga can be about. It is a great introduction class
Sunday 9 to 11.00 a.m. ” Morning flow”, similar to the Ayurvedic flow class, but longer and more complete with a longer cardio part.
Special classes / yoga getaway @ Uma iis Tasi / Beto Tasi cemetery beach
These are workshop style classes and explore one of the challenging facets of the yoga practice. A great class to go in-depth and learn more about your body abilities. These classes will definitely benefit any yoga practice you have, at home or at a class. Both classes can be combined into a yoga getaway.

The yin / yang flow is a hatha yoga class and as focus to wind down from a busy day . Either with more intense stretches or more of calming poses, breathe exercises and meditation .

Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga
The class covers most aspects and poses of the Ashtanga Yoga primary series and with space for Q&A and trial and error.

A week of Mysore and/or LED Ashtanga based classes in central Dili

Dili Ashtanga Yoga togehter with Ahimsaka offers a work week (Mon to Fri) of Ashtanga centered early morning classes at the Uma Dame ( shanti house) in the central and residential area of Dili. Near the Indonesian embassy and beach.

For any one who likes to start the week day with a serious practice, local, expat or short term visiting. This package is a great way to add some yoga to your Dili time. Two blocks away from the Indonesian embassy which makes it an ideal spot to practice while waiting for your visa. Accommodation is next to the embassy and decent and affordable restaurants are nearby.

Mon to Fri starting from 6 to 6.15 a.m. till 8 a.m. (or when you are finished)

Uma Dame is a simple yoga shala within a local residential neighbourhood and next to focusing on the Ashtanga practice, it tries to familiarise the Timorese with the Ashtanga Yoga practice. It is based in an 1 level high platform container construction facing east and is semi open. It will give you some astonishing sun rises and the awakening of a new Dili day.

Accommodation is next to Indonesian embassy and is nothing fancy and definitely not the level of nearby Bali , it is convenient and covers the basic necessities. Their Italian restaurant is recommended within the expat community.

The classes are a mix of Mysore and LED classes with hands-on adjustments and towards the end time to explore deeper some of the aspects of the practice. Please communicate your requests/focus and wishes to the teacher Ahimsaka and he will cater the classes towards it.

The classes are all levels and please give any information about disability, injury or state of body prior to the class to the teacher.

Dili is a small city, and the classes are small too, which gives the opportunity for more personal attention. If requested additional classes later during the day can be scheduled.

Ayurveda within Yoga

Saturday morning 10.00 to 11.30 a.m.
These yoga classes are the practical follow up of last years ayurveda & yoga classes. Last year sessions where mostly informatif, the current sessions will be yoga asana based from the ayurvedic spectrum. The classes could focus on a particular body constitution or body sheet (Dosha), focussing on balancing all 3 Dosha, or giving different practices to different students to balance their particular body constitution . No prior yoga or ayurvedic experience is necessary and the classes are for all levels. For every new student Ahimsa-Ka will try to determine their individual constitution and imbalances and work towards a balancing yoga session with the help of yoga asana, pranayama and meditation technics. Both sciences, ayurveda and yoga, are used as tools to establish and maintain an equilibrium of a healthy body, steady mind in an ever changing environment.
Beyond asana; moving into the field of breathe and brain

Saturday 15.15 to 16.45 p.m.
The amount of actual poses will be limited in this class, and we will do a fairly amount of sitting. A main focus of yoga is breathe, in particular a deep long breathe. Which is what we will explore and exercise in this class. In an hour and a half we will explore various breathe exercises to deepen and lengthen the breathe, together with some medication and relaxation technics. Which can be all complimentary to your diving or running practice and especially to your general well being.
No prior experience of yoga is necessary, though could be beneficial. As for yoga asana classes try to arrive with an empty stomach .

an open workshop of yoga to cultivate, nourish and stimulate the self practice of yoga

all the yoga classes will be focused on inward investigation and cultivating awareness. The goal the same the methods can be different. The different classes cover different aspects of the system of yoga.

Depending on your time and availability you can opt for the drop in rate, or buy a multiple time card (2 month valid, $200) that will allow you to have 24 classes (if bought between 26th and Jan 1st, after Jan 1st it will be back to the normal rate 20x $200) and can be used for any class (1.5 or 2 hour) between Dec 26th and Jan 15th

Whatever your intention is in life, if you feel better in your body it will be probably succeed a bit more easier. And that is where yoga comes in, it starts with creating awareness, internal communication. The more regular your practice the faster you can reap the fruits.

The early morning classes “Ashthanga Mysore ” are mixed with the regular morning class as both focus on the physical body, to lengthen and strengthen, and both work with a sequence which can be personally modified.

The special classes go into depth of one aspect of yoga asana and allow more time practice.

The later afternoon classes depends on the student’s requests and interested and can go into a more yin practice, more into pranayama and or meditation. For example when you like the yoga practice to benefit your diving you may want request more pranayama to deepen and lengthen the breathe. If your focus is to enhance your running practice you may like to do a yin practice to work on your joints.

Additionally on request, if enough people are interested , the weekend could be used to do excursions to do districts and to do yoga on location. Please inquire and register before Dec 5th for the excursions. If the outings are happening the weekend classes in Dili will be canceled and some of the classes will be taught on location.
